Inspired by a personal trip to Oaxaca in search of "real deal" Mezcal, this film profiles master village distillers throughout Mexico. Against a rich backdrop of culture and craft, the film reveals the conflict that mezcaleros face, as the newfound popularity of their tradition promises a better life but threatens the very survival of the agave they depend on.
